My name is Miss Rachelle Gibson and I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to teach your child this year. I believe that the children in Six Navy are very special and I look forward to an exciting year.
As a teacher I believe very strongly in getting-to-know students, valuing them as individuals and therefore developing a relationship where I can challenge students to achieve their best. As a teacher I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to engage students and make learning enjoyable and challenging. It is my aim to help students develop a positive attitude for learning and school.
I am also very passionate about developing strong working partnerships with parents. At St Bernardine’s we believe that teachers, administration and parents are responsible for student learning and development. Therefore I like to have an ‘open door policy’ within my classroom. This means that I encourage parents to come and see me any time you have a question or a concern, so that I can address the issue before it becomes a large problem. I encourage parents to do this with large and small problems.
